Imaging Techniques

  • MRI—We offer the regions only 3T MRI allowing for faster scan times and vastly improved imaging quality. We specialize in complex imaging examinations including those geared towards targeted imaging of the brain (including functional MRI), the gastrointestinal system, the male and female reproductive systems (including prostate imaging) as well as the musculoskeletal system.
  • CT Scan—Imaging features a 64 slice CT scan. Imaging examinations include specialized angiography of the heart, intestines, and lower extremity.
  • Nuclear Medicine—Nuclear medicine comprises diagnostic imaging based on the detection of energy emitted from radiopharmaceuticals given to the patient, either intravenously or by mouth. Extent of disease, prognosis and response to therapy can also be determined using nuclear medicine procedures and nuclear medicine Positron Emission Tomography (PET and PET/CT) techniques. Nuclear medicine also includes therapies such as radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer.
  • Mammography & Breast Imaging—Imaging services include mammography (as well as tomosynthesis), breast MRI, breast ultrasounds, galactograms and biopsies (both ultrasound guided and stereotactic biopsies).Of note, we are an ACR Center of Excellence for Breast Imaging and Intervention.
  • X-Ray—Plain film X-ray imaging is the fastest and easiest to assess broken bones, cracked skulls and injured spine.
  • Ultrasound – A method of obtaining images from inside the body without radiation. Ultrasounds are commonly used to view fetuses inside the womb, and to view other internal organs including the liver, gallbladder, thyroid and vasculature.
